The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has announced a scheduled 12-hour water supply disruption in several areas of Southwest and West Delhi on Monday due to essential maintenance and interconnection work on major water lines. According to the official statement, the disruption is necessary to carry out interconnection work on a 1,000 mm diameter feeder line originating from the Dwarka Water Treatment Plant, as well as maintenance on a 1,200 mm diameter water main at Ranhola Mod.
The water supply will be affected from 10 AM for a duration of 12 hours. Areas expected to face the disruption include Yashobhoomi Dwarka, Bharthal village, Dhulsiras, Bamnolii, and adjoining localities. Additionally, a number of colonies in West Delhi, such as Udyog Nagar, Jwala Puri (R Block), Paschim Vihar, Chander Vihar, Ranhola, Baprola, Jai Vihar, Chanchal Park, Vikas Nagar, Uttam Nagar, Maharani Enclave, Ram Chander Enclave, Pratap Enclave, Shiv Vihar, Rajan Vihar, Hastsal Vihar, Press Enclave, and Anand Vihar, will also be impacted. Other potentially affected areas include Gurpreet Nagar, Dall Mill Road, Yadav Enclave, Roop Vihar, Mahata Enclave, Defence Enclave Part-1, Shiv Vihar JJ Colony, Deep Enclave, Gupta Enclave, Shakti Vihar, Shishram Park, and several neighborhoods in East Uttam Nagar such as E-Block, Indra Park, Indra Park Extension, Ram Dutt Enclave, Jain Park, Matiala Extension, Sukhi Ram Park, and Vanhey Park.
In light of the disruption, the DJB has issued an advisory urging residents in affected areas to store a sufficient quantity of water in advance and use it judiciously during the maintenance period. The Board emphasized the importance of preparedness to minimize inconvenience, especially for households and businesses that may be impacted. To manage the temporary water shortage, the DJB will provide water through tankers on request. Residents can contact DJB’s water emergency control rooms or helpline numbers to request tanker services. The Board has advised residents to stay updated on the situation and take necessary precautions to avoid any disruption in their daily routine.
