The city has been witnessing a pattern of scattered thunderstorms this season, combined with high temperatures and sticky humidity. The weather department has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for Hyderabad for the next 3-4 days. Several residents and weather enthusiasts took to X (formerly Twitter) to share visuals of the dramatic weather. Moreover, the IMD has issued a yellow alert to 16 districts for Saturday (April 19, 2025).

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds were forecast in isolated places in Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal. Minimum 26 degrees Celsius, Maximum 38 degrees Celsius. Partly cloudy with chances of rain, thunderstorm, or duststorm.
