The threat was declared a hoax around an hour after the checks began, said officials.
A hoax bomb threat targeting Red Fort and Jama Masjid on Thursday morning prompted police and fire services to conduct thorough checks. According to Delhi Fire Services, the call regarding the threat came in at 9.03 am, prompting it to send one fire engine to each to the two sites. The threat was declared a hoax around an hour after the checks began, said officials. On receiving the call, bomb disposal teams from Delhi Police and CISF conducted thorough checks… but nothing suspicious was found. It was a hoax call,” said DCP (North) Raja Banthia.
Over 200 schools in the Capital had received bomb threats on their official emails last May, followed by similar emails sent to several hospitals, colleges and the Delhi Airport. In January 2025, too, several schools reported receiving similar emails containing bomb threats.
