School Holiday: Students in Belagavi have received exciting news as a two-day holiday has been announced for primary and high schools. This break is due to the centenary celebration of the Belgaum National Congress session. The event will see Congress party dignitaries arriving in the city, with extensive preparations underway in Kundanagar.

The grand celebration, scheduled for December 27, is expected to draw around 1.50 lakh attendees to the CPED ground in Belagavi city. To accommodate visitors from distant places, arrangements for breakfast, lunch, and accommodation have been made for over 5,000 people.A significant gathering of Congress leaders is anticipated at the event. Approximately 215 dignitaries, including Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Priyanka Gandhi, and Chief Ministers of four states, will be present. Additionally, 150 MPs are expected to attend the Congress working meeting on December 26.

A significant gathering of Congress leaders is anticipated at the event. Approximately 215 dignitaries, including Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Priyanka Gandhi, and Chief Ministers of four states, will be present. Additionally, 150 MPs are expected to attend the Congress working meeting on December 26.To ensure security during this high-profile event, the government has deployed 10,000 police officers. Ten state government ministers have been given specific responsibilities related to the event’s organisation and management.

In light of these celebrations, District Collector Mohammad Roshan has declared holidays for government, aided and unaided primary and high schools on December 26 and 27. Anganwadi centres in both urban and rural areas of Belagavi will also remain closed during this period.This two-day holiday provides students with an opportunity to enjoy an extended break while allowing the city to host this momentous occasion smoothly. With such a large number of attendees expected, meticulous planning has been crucial to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
