In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Surat and a public meeting in Limbayat on Friday, Surat police have diverted normal traffic to alternate routes. Keeping in mind the movements of VVIP and VIP in Surat on Friday, Surat Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gahlaut had on Wednesday issued a notification in this regard. Rules and restrictions will be in place from Friday noon till the programme ends, and again from 7 am on Saturday (from Circuit House to Surat airport) until the PM convoy passes. The regular movement of normal traffic on certain roads has been diverted to alternate internal roads.
As per the notification, the “banned route” for normal traffic in Limbayat on Friday is the stretch from Nilgiri Circle to Udhna Railway station, the one-way stretch from Nilgirl Circle to the underground road pass up to Ratan Chowk and leading up to Mirror Hotel at Udhna road no.0, and the one-way stretch from Udhna road no. 3 to the GEB office crossroads. However, the “alternate route” for regular commuters will be the one-side road from Nilgiri Circle to Udhna Road no. 0 or 3. Udhna road no. 6 Dindoli to Bhimnagar railway underpass up to Dindoli. Regular commuters can use the overbridge road, starting from Udhna police station and going to Bharwadnagar junctions. It has to pass through Sai Point circle at Dindoli.
Both roads at the Golaganthi Railway underpass at Udhna Road no. 0 will be “banned for normal traffic”.
The commuters can use alternate routes, such as the Udhna Railway East Yard Road stretching up to the Udhna Railway underpass. Commuters who want to reach Samrat School crossroads can use the Udhna Railway East Yard Road to reach Kamrunagar and pass through Mithi creek to reach Samrat School. The “banned roads” for normal traffic start from Medas Square Crossroads and end at Sanskrutik AC Market at Udhna. The “alternate route” for regular traffic is Maharana Pratap Nagar Crossroads to Medas Square, up to Kangaroo Circle, and Bharat Cancer Hospital at Punagam.
